Abstract
This study targeted 92 children of aged 6, 7, 8, and conducted the executive function test such as ¡®"Stroop Color and Word Test, Children"s Color Trails Test, Digit Span, Block Design, and Maze.¡¯ Parents" Fostering attitude targeted both mothers and fathers of tested children. The questionnaires about parents" fostering attitude used Schaefer"s(1959) Maternal Behavior Research Instrument and Lim, Ho Chan"s(2010) questionnaires on parents" fostering attitude. The result of this study is as follows, The meaning of this thesis was studying executive function and parents" fostering attitude which have not been studied much. Also, in the existing studies, only mother"s fostering attitude was included, but this study included father"s fostering attitude and found out that father"s fostering attitude has an effect on child"s cognitive development. This founding suggests that in the aspect of fostering attitude, father and mother play a different role in child"s development. While mother"s fostering attitude influences child"s emotional part, father"s fostering attitude has an effect on child"s cognitive development. In this study, there is a limit that parents" SES level, the level of education which can be major factors in the process of analyzing father"s fostering attitude, which will be necessary to be proved in the future study.
